Los arácnidos son uno de los grupos de artrópodos que presentan mayor diversidad, existen más de 100 familias de arañas distribuidas en todo el mundo con más de 42.000 especies descriptas. En Argentina, 48 familias están representadas con alrededor de 1.000 especies, con un importante rol ecológico. El objetivo general de esta línea de investigación es avanzar en el conocimiento sobre aspectos biológicos, bioquímicos y fisiológicos de estos organismos, principalmente en relación al rol de lipoproteínas tanto hemolinfáticas como vitelínicas; enzimas y procesos reproductivos e inmunológicos.
